LocalBitcoins is one of the well known bitcoin exchanges out there. At LocalBitcoins people like yourself and I will post on the site listing the price they are willing to sell their bitcoins. The people posting to sell their bitcoins can be anywhere on earth or in the same town as you. You can discuss with the seller as to how you would like to make the payment – your options usually are by PayPal, meeting in person for cash or a bank transfer. LocalBitcoins also provides you with their own wallet, but I would suggest using your own wallet (as discussed in the Wallet Section). Once you make the transaction, you can have LocalBitcoin send your bitcoin(s) to your wallet address.
